Jacqy DUVAL

Jacqueline Dehond and Koenraad Uyttendaele together form the artist duo Jacqy duVal.

Jacqueline DEHOND was born in Blankenberge in 1965.
Koenraad UYTTENDAELE was born in Leuven in 1962.

In their artistic practice, the emphasis is on technique and colour. They often work in series of interconnected, but completely autonomous works, in which a vigorous dialogue is established between repetition and variations in colour and form.

The use of “Tuchleinen”, a painting technique in which casein pigment is bound to fabric with rabbit-skin glue, which had previously been used by Breughel and Dürer, results in deep and vibrant colours.

Their work is intended to allow us to reconnect with what is essential to us, first in ourselves and in our relationship to the world around us.
